The Lion and the Fox

By Ryan Habbena

A Contrast of Two Kings

During the ministry of Jesus, a group of Pharisees informed Jesus that Herod wanted to kill him. Jesus boldly responded “Go and tell that fox . . .” Typically, the term “fox” is interpreted to mean one who is sly and cunning. In this message, Pastor Ryan Habbena explores the distinct Hebrew background of the term “fox.” Once this background is understood, this is used as a springboard to compare “the fox,” Herod, to the powerful “Lion from the tribe of Judah” – Jesus of Nazareth.
